They are suspended between the ceiling and the floor, screen the full sunlight of Dubai without darkening the room, and still leave the sight of the nearby towers and plants as part of the interior. The design of the lightweight material was chosen to match the mustard-colored upholstery and to make the area feel open and airy during the day.

The floor is a wide-plank engineered honey wood. The choice of this tone was to balance with the light that enters via the floor-to-ceiling windows and help anchor the warm colour scheme of the room. The boards were placed in a continuous run, which was clean, to create a visual expansion of the space and create a flow between the adjoining zones and seating.

To decorate the wall treatments, a special decorative panel with a classic ivory and turquoise medallion pattern was framed and hung as a special item on the accent wall. The textile is patterned, contributing heritage quality, and integrates very well with the curated objects shown on the bronze etagere. The rest of the walls were completed in a light off-white and did not distract attention from the accent pieces and the textures.

These elements, combined, made the apartment a luxurious, light-filled escape that blends modern living in Dubai with traditional Middle Eastern coziness. It creates a room in which all surfaces, the floor on the feet and the custom curtains on the window, are brought into silent harmony.
