How to Stop Light Leaking Around the Edges
Blackout fabric blocks light completely, but a roller blind fitted inside the frame needs a small gap at each side to roll freely. In a dark room, that gap shows up as a thin line of light. These fixes close it:
Outside mount: the blind sits on the wall above the frame and overlaps it on both sides.Â
Cassette or pelmet: a box over the roll stops light escaping at the top.
Side channels: slim aluminium tracks hold the fabric edges, so no light passes at the sides.
Blind plus curtain: a blackout curtain on a track in front of the blind covers every gap.
