Soundproof Curtains for Both Bedrooms

The client picked a beige, 5-layer soundproof curtain for both rooms - light enough to keep the bedrooms feeling neutral, but with the density needed to actually cut down on outside noise and morning light.

We started by checking each window and confirming drop and width before ordering anything, since a soundproof curtain only works if it covers the frame with no gaps at the sides. Once the panels arrived, we fitted the hardware first, then hung and squared each curtain before running it back and forth a few times to check for any pulling or uneven hang. The layered fabric sits noticeably fuller than a standard curtain, which also helps it sit flush against the wall and window frame rather than curling at the edges.

We fitted the second bedroom the same way, checking hardware, drop, and movement again, so both rooms ended up matching.

Sisal Carpet for the Living Room

For the living room, the client chose a dark brown sisal carpet to bring in the natural texture and warmth the space was missing.

Before cutting anything, we measured the room and marked out where the carpet edges would sit, paying close attention to the corners since that's usually where a poor fit shows first. We laid the carpet in sections, working it flat and checking for any bunching or lift at the seams as we went. Once it was down, we went over the whole floor again - smoothing out any remaining folds and checking that the perimeter sat cleanly against the skirting, with no visible gaps.

Finishing Up

With both spaces done, we walked through the apartment for a final check - curtain alignment and movement in the bedrooms, and surface, edges, and corners on the carpet. A couple of small adjustments came up during this stage, mostly minor repositioning at the carpet edges, and we sorted those before packing up. We also cleared out packaging and offcuts so the client could move back into both rooms straight away.

For the client, the change was less about how the rooms looked and more about how they'd actually use them - a bedroom quiet enough to sleep through without the road noise, and a living room floor that finally felt consistent with the rest of the apartment instead of standing apart from it. Our installer, Farhan, did a final walkthrough with the client before handing back the keys that same afternoon.
